Screenshot Capture

Pick your whole screen, an app window or a browser tab and grab a single frame as a PNG you can save or copy. A delay timer lets you set things up first. The image never leaves this page. To draw on it afterwards, try the Screenshot Annotator.

🔒 Runs in your browser · Your data is never sent to a server

Press "Take screenshot" and your browser will ask which screen, window or tab to capture.

How to use

  1. Optionally choose a "Delay before capture" (handy for menus and hover states).
  2. Press "Take screenshot", then choose a screen, window or tab in your browser’s picker.
  3. After the delay, one frame is captured and sharing stops automatically.
  4. Check the preview, then press "Download PNG" or "Copy image".

Notes

  • Your browser must be allowed to share the screen. Once you pick a screen, window or tab, the tool grabs a single frame and stops sharing right away.
  • Whatever is on screen is captured as is. Check that passwords, notifications and personal information are not visible first.
  • The resolution, and whether this page itself shows up, depends on your browser and the kind of source you pick.
  • Browsers on phones often do not support screen capture.
  • "Copy image" is not available in every browser. If it fails, use the download button.

Glossary

FAQ

Is my screenshot sent to a server?

No. Capturing and building the image happen entirely in your browser. It goes nowhere unless you download or copy it, and it disappears when you close the page.

Why do I have to allow screen sharing every time?

Browsers require your permission each time a web page captures the screen. This tool grabs a single frame and stops sharing immediately, so the sharing indicator disappears right after the shot.

Does it work on a phone?

Most phone browsers do not support screen capture (getDisplayMedia), so it will not work there. Use your device’s built-in screenshot feature instead. Desktop Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari work.

How do I capture a menu or a hover state?

Set "Delay before capture" to 3-10 seconds, press "Take screenshot", pick the screen, then open the menu or hover the element. The screen as it looks when the delay ends is captured.

Will this page show up in my screenshot?

It will if you pick the whole screen or this tab. Choose another window or tab and it will not. How this is handled can differ between browsers.
