How to use
- Choose a PDF file.
- Set "Pages per sheet", plus the paper size, orientation and page order.
- Press "Run" to build the new PDF.
- Download the file shown under the result.
Notes
- Each page is scaled down while keeping its aspect ratio. If the page shape differs from its slot, there will be blank space around it.
- Pressing the run button does not change your original file; it creates a new, laid-out PDF.
- Pages are shrunk, so small text becomes smaller. If it is hard to read once printed, use fewer pages per sheet.
- Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Unlock them first.
- If a PDF has a CropBox (visible area), pages are laid out according to it. Areas outside the CropBox are not included.
Glossary
N-up
A print layout that shrinks several pages onto one sheet of paper. Two pages per sheet is 2-up, four is 4-up, and so on.
pt (point)
The length unit used in PDFs. 1 pt is about 0.35 mm, and an A4 page is roughly 595 × 842 pt.
FAQ
Which paper orientation is used for 2-up and 4-up?
With Auto, 2-up, 6-up and 8-up use landscape paper, while 4-up and 9-up use portrait. To stack two pages vertically on portrait paper, for example, set the orientation manually.
Why are the pages not enlarged to fill the sheet?
Each page is scaled down to fit its slot while keeping the aspect ratio, and centered. If the shapes differ, there is blank space above/below or beside it. Setting margin and gap to 0 pt lets pages be placed larger.
What is the difference between the two page orders?
"Across" fills the top row from left to right and then moves to the next row. "Down" fills the left column from top to bottom and then moves to the next column. Use Across for most documents, and Down for material read in columns.
What happens with mixed page sizes or rotated pages?
Each page keeps its own orientation and is scaled to fit its slot. Pages with a rotation setting are placed the way you see them on screen.
