How to use

  1. Press "Start". A number appears briefly; memorize it before the bar runs out.
  2. When it disappears, type the number and press "Submit" (Enter works too).
  3. A correct answer adds one digit. A wrong answer ends the run and shows how far you got.

Notes

  • Longer numbers stay on screen longer: 1 second for one digit, plus 0.4 seconds for each extra digit.
  • Numbers can start with 0. Keep leading zeros when you type your answer.
  • Full-width digits are accepted and treated as normal digits. Other characters are ignored.
  • Your best score is stored only in this browser (localStorage) and never sent anywhere. Clearing browser data erases it.
  • Numbers are random every time. This is a casual game, not a medical test.

FAQ

How many digits can the average person remember?

People can typically hold about seven digits (give or take two) at once. Many players hit a wall around 7 to 9 digits here. Beyond 10 digits you usually need a strategy such as grouping the digits.

Any tips for remembering longer numbers?

Split the number into chunks of three or four digits and remember the chunks instead of single digits. Silently repeating the chunks in your head also helps.

Can a number start with 0?

Yes. Each digit is picked at random from 0 to 9, so numbers like "0123" can appear. Leave out the leading zero and the answer counts as wrong.

Where is my best score stored?

Only in your browser's localStorage. It is never sent to a server, is not shared with other browsers or devices, and disappears if you clear site data. You can also remove it with "Clear best score".
