Coin Toss: Heads or Tails

Press the button and let a fair coin settle it: who goes first, or any yes-or-no choice. Flip once or many times in a row, then check your history, the heads and tails split and your streaks. To choose among three or more options, use the Roulette, Random Picker & Dice Roller.

    Notes

    • Randomness comes from your browser’s cryptographic generator (crypto.getRandomValues), so heads and tails each come up with exactly 50% probability. The spinning coin is only a show: the result is decided before it spins.
    • Streaks of heads or tails are normal over a small number of flips. Each flip is independent of the ones before it.
    • The last 1000 flips are kept on this page only. Closing or reloading the page clears them.
    • If your operating system has "reduce motion" turned on, the coin does not spin and the result appears immediately.
    • The result cannot be proven fair to a third party. Do not use it for sweepstakes or any decision involving money.

    FAQ

    Is the coin really 50/50?

Yes. The tool takes an unbiased 0 or 1 from the browser’s cryptographic generator (crypto.getRandomValues) and maps it to heads or tails. Each side has a 50% chance regardless of earlier flips. The spinning coin is only a show: the result is decided before it spins.

Does a long run of heads mean the randomness is broken?

No, runs happen by chance. In 10 flips there is close to a 50% chance of a run of at least four of the same side somewhere. Flips are independent, so tails is never "due".

Where do I see the results of several flips in a row?

When you flip more than once, the result line shows the heads and tails totals and the order flipped. One coin is shown per flip, each landing on its own side. History, the split and streaks are collected under Statistics.

    Is my history saved anywhere?

The history stays in memory only while this page is open. It is not saved to a server or to your device, and it disappears on reload. The last 1000 flips are kept.

What if I need to choose among three or more options?

A coin only covers two outcomes. For three or more options, enter them in the roulette and random picker tool instead.
