Pick a year and month to make a monthly or yearly calendar you can print or save as a PDF. You can start the week on Sunday or Monday, show ISO week numbers, and mark Japanese national holidays. Everything runs in your browser, and nothing you enter is sent to a server. To count days between two dates, try the Date Calculator.

How to use

  2. Switch the week start, holidays and week numbers as needed.
  3. Press “Print” to print just the calendar (you can also save it as a PDF).

Notes

  • Holidays are shown for 2000–2099 only. For other years you get the plain calendar.
  • Holidays follow current Japanese law; future legal changes and one-off holidays are not reflected.
  • To fit a yearly calendar on one sheet, set the paper to landscape and use small margins in the print dialog.
  • Dates are calculated in the Gregorian calendar.

Glossary

ISO week number

The week numbering defined by ISO 8601. Weeks start on Monday, and week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. As a result, early January can belong to week 52 or 53 of the previous year, and late December can belong to week 1 of the next.

Substitute holiday

When a Japanese national holiday falls on a Sunday, the next weekday that is not a holiday becomes a day off.

FAQ

How do I print a yearly calendar on a single sheet?

Choose “Yearly”, press Print, then set the paper orientation to landscape and the margins to none or minimum in the print dialog. Setting the scale to “fit to page” helps too. To save a PDF instead, pick “Save as PDF” as the printer.

Which rule is used for week numbers?

ISO 8601. Weeks start on Monday and week 1 is the week containing the first Thursday of the year. Even when the calendar starts on Sunday, a Sunday counts as the end of the previous week, so each row shows the number of the Monday–Saturday days it contains.

Why are holidays missing for some years?

Japanese holidays are supported for 2000–2099 only. For other years (1900–1999 and 2100) only the plain calendar is generated.

Can I add my own events or days off?

Not in this tool. Print the calendar or save it as a PDF, then add notes by hand or in another app.
