Add Page Numbers & Watermark to PDF
Number every page of a PDF and overlay watermark text such as CONFIDENTIAL or DRAFT, then save a new file. Pick the position, size, opacity and angle; the watermark also works with non-Latin text. Your file never leaves your device. To reorder or delete pages first, use the PDF Page Editor.

How to use
- Choose a PDF file.
- Tick "Add page numbers" and/or "Add a watermark", then set the position, size, opacity and so on.
- Press "Run" to build a new PDF.
- Download the file shown under the result.
Notes
- Page numbers use a standard font, so the format can only contain ASCII letters, digits and symbols.
- The watermark is placed as an image, so its text cannot be selected or searched in the PDF. Non-Latin glyphs are drawn with the fonts installed on your device.
- Pressing the run button does not change your original file; it creates a new PDF with the page numbers and watermark added. Keep the original if you need to undo.
- Password-protected PDFs are not supported. Unlock them first.
Glossary
Watermark
Faint text or an image laid over (or behind) a page content to mark a document, for example CONFIDENTIAL, DRAFT or SAMPLE.
pt (point)
The length unit used in PDFs. 1 pt is about 0.35 mm, and an A4 page is roughly 595 × 842 pt.
FAQ
Can the page number contain non-Latin text such as "Page" in Japanese?
No. Page numbers are drawn with a standard PDF font, so the format can only contain ASCII letters, digits and symbols (for example {n} / {total}, - {n} -, or Page {n}). The watermark does support non-Latin text.
Can I leave the cover page unnumbered and start at 1 on page 2?
Yes. Tick "Skip the first page" and page 1 gets no number while page 2 receives the starting number (1 by default).
Can I select or copy the watermark text?
No. The watermark is placed as an image of the text, so the PDF treats it as an image. In exchange it can show characters that standard PDF fonts lack.
Does it work on rotated (for example landscape) pages?
Yes. The tool takes each page’s rotation into account and positions numbers and watermarks relative to the orientation you see on screen.
